FAQ

What kind of hearse do you have?

I have a 1999 Lincoln Town Car Funeral Coach, made by Eagle Coach Company. It has a stock 4.6L V8 2v.

How and where did you buy a hearse?

I purchased my hearse from a crematory operator in Virginia. I found my hearse by joining Facebook groups centered around hearses, such as regional hearse club groups and hearse buy/sell groups.

How much did you pay for your hearse?

I paid $6,000

What kind of gas mileage do hearses get?

That depends a on the kind of hearse! My hearse gets about 20 mpg. a good rule of thumb for estimating the mpg of a hearse is to find the average between the sedan & basic pickup truck of the corresponding parent company & year of the hearse in question. It's usually right in the middle!

I'm thinking of buying a hearse. Are they good daily drivers?

For my lifestyle, yes. for other people, not so much. If you live in a city with limited parking and narrow streets, its probably not going to be a practical move for you. If you're a blue collar worker who has to basically go offroading to get to jobsites, it might not work for you either.

How did you get into welding?

I learned to weld in high school theatre in order to build the giant man-eating plant puppet for Little Shop of Horrors. I fell in love with it, so after I graduated, I went to Georgia Trade School and got certified in mig, tig, fluxcore, and stick welding!

How did you start welding for the entertainment industry?

I sent applications, emails, or calls around to a bunch of scene shops, prop shops, and creative companies in my area. I got hired pretty quickly.
